If you’ve been researching permanent makeup, you’ve probably come across lots of
different names: microblading, nanoblading, nano brows, powder brows, ombré brows,
combination brows… and it’s no wonder it feels confusing!
One of the questions I’m asked most is:
“Which technique do you do?”
The answer is… all of them.
Over the years I’ve invested in extensive training in the latest permanent makeup
techniques. Whenever new methods, pigments or equipment become available, I continue
my education so I can offer my clients the very best results.
But here’s something that might surprise you…
I don’t ask you to book a specific technique.
Why?
Because choosing the technique before I’ve even seen your skin would be a bit like asking a
hairdresser to colour your hair without looking at it first.
Every client is different.
Your skin type, age, lifestyle, existing brow hair, previous permanent makeup, healing ability
and the look you’re hoping to achieve all play a part in deciding which technique will give
you the best long-term result.
The technique should fit you – not the other way around.
For example:
- Some clients achieve beautiful results with fine hair strokes.
- Others are much better suited to soft powder brows.
- Many clients benefit from a combination of techniques to create the most natural finish.
The goal is never to use a particular technique because it’s fashionable. The goal is to create
beautiful brows that heal well and still look amazing years later.
Trends come and go. Beautiful brows don’t.
Over the years we’ve seen different names become popular. Microblading was the buzzword
for a long time. More recently, you’ve probably heard about nanoblading or nano brows.
While these techniques all have their place, no single method is the “best” for everyone.
The best permanent makeup artists don’t force every client into one technique. They
choose the approach that suits the individual sitting in front of them.
My approach
During your consultation I’ll assess your skin, discuss your lifestyle and listen to what you’d
like to achieve.
From there, I’ll recommend the technique—or combination of techniques—that I genuinely
believe will give you the most flattering and long-lasting result.
That means you don’t need to worry about trying to work out whether you need
microblading, nanoblading or powder brows before you book.
That’s my job.
